Benefits Open Enrollment: November 2 - 16, 2009

Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review your insurance and spending accounts benefits coverage and make choices for the upcoming calendar year. You should actively enroll during Open Enrollment to ensure your benefits meet your needs. Open Enrollment information is mailed to homes at the beginning of the Open Enrollment period.  If you do not receive your OE packet, please contact the Benefits Office.

• Your elections become effective on January 1 and remain in effect for the entire year (dental and vision are two-year elections).

• You cannot change your benefit selections until the next Open Enrollment, unless you experience a qualifying status change. 

Review Your Options and Make Your Choices

International Open Enrollment

• Review the Quick Reference Guide (or PT guide) for brief summaries of the benefits and highlights of changes for next year.  The Benefits Workbook has (or International or PT book) more detailed information about your benefit options.

• You can contact the carriers directly if you need to ask detailed questions about how a certain procedure or condition would be covered.

• At the Benefits and Fitness Fair on Wednesday, November 4 at 11am - 4pm in UC-Rangos you can speak with carrier representatives and learn more about your benefits.  Bring your postcard invitation for easy entry into the raffles; donate a can of food to the Staff Council Food Drive for entry into another raffle.

• Review the full-time rates (or part-time rates) for the various benefit options. (Note that rates are listed in biweekly and monthly rates, depending on your pay frequency.  Benefit deductions will be taken from the first and second biweekly pays of each month for those on the biweekly payroll.) 

• Log into HR Connection to review your current elections and make changes for 2010.  Be sure to complete the entire Open Enrollment module, including re-entering your HR Connection password and confirming your changes.
