Other Course and Curricular Choices
In addition to the course requirements for applicants to medical school, there are many
other courses and curricular paths that can prepare you well as a medical school applicant. For instance, degree
programs that combine the natural and social sciences are of great interest to medical schools, whether you
achieve this with a combination of minors, double majors, or course work. You might also consider a minor that is
relevant to the health professions, such as the minor in Health Care Policy and Management
as outlined at the end of this page.

Minor in Health Care Policy and Management
A program of particular interest to future health professionals is the interdisciplinary minor in health care policy
and management. Through this minor, students become aware of the policy and management aspects of the current
health care environment.
Six courses (a minimum of 60 units) are required to complete this minor. Entry into the minor requires completion
of 73-250 Intermediate Microeconomics and 88-220 Policy Analysis I, or the equivalent by approval.
