Volunteer

Providing service to those in need is now more important than ever, and is viewed by many health professions schools as a critical component of an applicant's life experiences. Volunteering can be a great way to explore and confirm your interest in health professions, to strengthen your application package, and to have a positive impact on people's lives. With the many prestigious hospitals and medical centers here in Pittsburgh, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved. Carnegie Mellon students can also apply for our Preceptorship Program, a competitive, ten-week volunteer experience in which students interested in a medical career shadow residents at UPMC hospitals.
