Winter Break 2012-2013
Residence halls close at 12 pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, and reopen at 12 pm on Friday, January 11, 2013.
Before leaving for winter break, housing residents should read the Winter Break Closing Memo [.pdf] and complete the Winter Break Closing Checklist [.pdf].

Winter Break Housing Application
Residents who are currently assigned to Fairfax Apartments, Morewood E-Tower, Morewood Gardens or Webster Hall may reside in their assignment during winter break, but you are required to register online with Housing and Dining Services between November 21 and December 18, 2012. Registration is required for any portion of winter break including arrival prior to January 11, 2013.
Residents not living in the open buildings but wishing to stay in university housing for any period of winter break must follow these steps:
- Determine if you have friends or acquaintances that live in the open buildings and ask permission to stay in their room over the break.
- When a suitable arrangement is secured, register online between November 21 and December 18, 2012. Before your request is approved, all roommates involved are required to confirm their approval of the winter break arrangement. If Housing and Dining Services cannot secure this confirmation, your request will be denied.
The process to obtain keys for winter break access will be included in resident approval emails.
