Greek Housing Winter Break-Housing Services - Carnegie Mellon University

Greek Housing Winter Break info

Greek houses close on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 12 pm and reopen on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 12 pm.

ATTENTION: New this spring 2014 when you return

All residents must visit a kiosk upon their return for the spring semester to reactivate their ID card. Your 4-digit housing pin number will be the same as the fall semester.

Kiosk stations are located at the Housing Services office (Morewood E-101), Donner House, Hill Service Center, Morewood Gardens, Mudge House, The Residence on Fifth, Stever House and West Wing.

GREEK HOUSES CAN REMAIN OPEN OVER WINTER BREAK
In accordance with the Greek housing lease, approved Greek houses can remain open during Winter Break if they meet the minimum of three current occupants staying throughout the entire Winter Break. (There must be three current spring/fall occupants of the house present every day of the break period for the house to remain open.) If three current occupants of the house are present, additional on-campus residents can stay but need approval of current residents in the room they will be residing. Housing will not provide access to spaces without Greek resident approval.

WINTER BREAK ROSTER DUE ON DECEMBER 2, 2013 at 5 PM
All requesting fraternities and sororities must submit to Housing Services an occupancy list of Winter Break residents, including room numbers, full names, Andrew IDs and dates that each individual will be occupying the house to obtain approval to remain open. This roster is due to Vickie Woodhead at rmassign@andrew.cmu.edu no later than 5 pm on December 2, 2013. The roster must include the name of the formal Winter Break contact person with cell phone number.

Key Access information to the Greek houses during Winter Break will be sent to the approved students. Information regarding obtaining and activating the separate white access key card will be provided.
