Housing Options for Current Residents
As a current resident of university housing, you have a number of housing options available to you when planning for the upcoming academic year housing. While we hope that you’ll continue to live with us in university housing, current residents who are planning to leave the university housing system should know that once you leave the housing system, you are no longer guaranteed a university housing assignment.
On-Campus Housing - Room Selection
Students currently living in university housing must participate in Room Selection to select university housing for the following academic year. Room Selection takes place each spring semester, and the Room Selection website is typically updated every January. Special Interest Housing and Block Housing are both parts of Room Selection.
Upper-class students currently living in university housing may choose to live off-campus following their first year on campus. To assist students who are interested in off-campus housing options, Housing and Dining Services provides information and resources as a convenient starting point through our Community Housing Services page. We also hold an Off-Campus Housing Fair each February with representatives of major rental management companies who represent properties throughout the city.
Many members of Greek organizations choose to live in Greek housing after their first year of university housing. Greek housing is managed independently through the leadership of each Greek organization, in collaboration with Housing and Dining Services and Student Life. Greek housing is considered outside of the university housing system.
Students attending summer classes or working locally during the summer session may apply for Summer Housing. To be considered, students must apply during the established application period.
