Boss House-Housing Services - Carnegie Mellon University

Boss House

Boss House-Global Living is a community for first-year students interested in creating a more empathic, collaborative, and sustainable global society. Boss House provides students with a welcoming, intimate, and intellectually stimulating environment where they develop through engaging in intercultural learning opportunities. Hallmark activities include the Global Potluck, language immersion activities, and a Global Music Fest featuring community members. Boss House welcomes both international and domestic applicants to facilitate intercultural competence. Carnegie Mellon offers the option for Boss House alumni to create continuity in their Global Living experience by applying to live in Clyde House, the upperclass Global Living community, after their First Year experience.

Consisting of prime double and prime single rooms with semi-private bathrooms, Boss is coed by room but residents share a bathroom with residents of the same gender. This residence has a large outdoor courtyard, a first-floor community lounge with recreation and television areas, study lounges, and laundry facilities.
