Congratulations and welcome to Carnegie Mellon University!
Housing Services works closely with the Office of International Education (OIE) to coordinate international student housing and check-in. International students should also visit OIE’s website for additional information on housing and international orientation.
First-year international students who are working toward an undergraduate degree are housed in our first-year residences and should apply for housing by May 31.
International first-year students may arrive on campus in time to attend Undergraduate International Orientation. Please review the calendar for specific dates. If you plan to attend international orientation, please make sure that you register with Housing Services for early arrival via the early arrival registration form, which will be available in late July or early August.
Upper-class international undergraduate students who are transferring to Carnegie Mellon should follow the application procedures for transfer students.
Exchange students who have been admitted to Carnegie Mellon for either one or two semesters should submit the Upper-Class Housing Application. You will be notified as soon as a space becomes available.
International Graduate Students
International graduate students and visiting scholars make off-campus housing arrangements. Carnegie Mellon's Community Housing Services is a great resource to help you with your off-campus housing search.
