Congratulations and welcome to Carnegie Mellon!
Housing and Dining Services works closely with the Office of International Education (OIE) to coordinate international student housing and check-in. International students should also visit OIE’s website for additional information on housing and international orientation.
International Students (here for a full undergraduate degree)
First-year undergraduate international students are housed in our first-year living areas and should follow the same application instructions posted for First-year Incoming Students.
International first-year students are generally permitted to arrive on campus in time to attend Undergraduate International Orientation. Please review the calendar for specific dates. If you are an international student who plans to attend international orientation, please make sure that you register with our office for early arrival through the early arrival registration form, which will be available in late July or early August.
Upper-class international undergraduate students who are transferring to Carnegie Mellon should follow the application procedures for Transfer students.
Exchange Students (here for one or two semesters)
Exchange students who have been admitted to Carnegie Mellon should submit the online Upper-Class Housing Application, to be added to the housing waitlist.
International Graduate Students
International graduate students and visiting scholars make off-campus housing arrangements, and are encouraged to take advantage of the resources available through Community Housing Services to assist with this search.
