Room Assignments for First-Year Students

Welcome once again to Carnegie Mellon! We're excited to meet with you soon!

We know that living in university housing plays a significant role in enhancing a student's out-of-classroom experience, particularly for new first-year students. For this reason, all first-year students are required to live in university housing for their first academic year. Living in a university housing building facilitates involvement and integration into the university community and is a big factor in helping new first-year students make a successful transition to the university.

The Room Assignments staff are responsible for processing all of the housing applications for new incoming first-year students.
