Early Arrival Housing Requests
For security and logistical reasons, residents are not permitted to check into campus housing before the established check-in dates except for specially approved groups participating in orientation or athletics, or transitioning from Summer Housing. Also, residents CANNOT store their belongings in their fall assignment prior to their actual move-in.
The majority of individuals requesting early arrival status are denied with limited exceptions. Residents are provided with the official move-in dates early in the academic year in a variety of means, so that appropriate living and travel arrangements can be made. In addition, our residence halls are used extensively during the summer for our summer housing residents as well as Conference and Event Services guests. During the last few weeks before classes, we need to prepare the buildings for your return. Lastly, the Residential Life staff is in training and is not available as a resource to early arrival residents.
The deadline to submit an early arrival request is Friday, August 10 at 5 pm. After submitting an early arrival request, you will receive an acknowledgement email. This is NOT an approval of your request. Your request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and a decision will be emailed to your Andrew account. Please do not resubmit a request if you are part of a pre-approved group for early arrival, such as CAs, RAs, athletic teams, ROTC, etc. Contact your advisor or coach if you are not sure the status of your request.
