spacer image Dear Friend,

Simply put, last week was historic. Not only did the international spotlight shine brightly on Carnegie Mellon, we also began writing the next chapter in its innovative story by dedicating a new home for computer science.

From hosting world leaders who were in Pittsburgh for the G-20 Summit, to showcasing our excellence in the arts, to demonstrating our commitment to breakthrough ideas in virtually every field and industry, Carnegie Mellon continued to stand out on the international stage.

As President Jared L. Cohon wrote in his essay on CNN.com, “…the practical application of innovation can drive growth and improvement in quality of life the world over.” This statement embodies Carnegie Mellon and is the quality that attracted some of the world’s foremost leaders, philanthropists and thinkers to our campus last week.

The stories below provide a glimpse into the experiences of last week, experiences that are only possible at a place like Carnegie Mellon and because of supporters like you: innovators who are driving growth and improving life the world over.

Enjoy!
