  Alum Shares Nobel Prize Oliver Eaton Williamson (TPR’63), who Williamsonearned his Ph.D. in economics at Carnegie Mellon’s Graduate School of Industrial Administration, now the Tepper School of Business, shares this year’s Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. A well-known author in the area of transaction cost economics, Williamson is currently a professor at the University of California, Berkley, and developed focus for his research while at Carnegie Mellon, under the instruction of several academic pioneers. According to the Nobel Prize Selection Committee, Williamson “profoundly enhanced our learning of economic governance.”
