Marilyn Taft Thomas (A’64, ’65) President, Andrew Carnegie Society       Alum Shares Nobel Prize Oliver Eaton Williamson (TPR’63), who earned his Ph.D. in economics at Carnegie Mellon’s Graduate School of Industrial Administration, now the Tepper School of Business, shares this year’s Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. A well-known author in the area of transaction cost economics, Williamson is currently a professor at the University of California, Berkley, and developed focus for his research while at Carnegie Mellon, under the instruction of several academic pioneers. A few years ago, I went to my very first Homecoming, and I did not know what to expect. During the course of the weekend, I reconnected with several classmates and saw a few professors who remembered me. But having graduated 20 years earlier, you would have been as shocked as I was to see me marching around the football field with my fellow classmates from the ’80s.
