About the Steiner Speaker Series

The Steiner Speaker Series was made possible through the generosity of David (E'51) and Sylvia Steiner. The series is designed to bring national and international leaders in the entertainment and cultural industries to Carnegie Mellon.

David Steiner is a distinguished real estate developer and highly active in public service. Together with his son, Douglas, David built Steiner Studios, a state-of-the-art film and television production facility located at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Sylvia is a dedicated community and political activist. David and Sylvia have been lifelong patrons of the arts, particularly the theater.

The Steiner Speaker Series is presented by the Institute for the Management of Creative Enterprises, a joint initiative of the College of Fine Arts and the H. John Heinz III College offering graduate education, applied research and vital services in support of the management of arts, culture and entertainment organizations.
