Finding in-network providers beginning August 1, 2014
All of the student insurance plans are network-based. Physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers in the networks have contracted to provide specific medical care at negotiated prices. It is important to ALWAYS make sure that the providers you choose are in your plan's network.
You need to make sure all non-emergency visits or tests of any kind are provided by doctors and facilities in the network to make sure you get the highest level of benefit.
Medical: Network is Aetna Open PPO.
For providers within the United States: visit Aetna's DocFind to locate network doctors and facilities.
Overseas medical assistance: On Call Assistance services are available when traveling 100 or more miles from the member’s primary residence or when traveling in a foreign country. This organization also handles medical evacuation for our student plan.
Vision: Network is Aetna Vision Preferred.
To locate a provider, visit Aetna Vision, enter your zip code and click on "Get Results" to see the most current listing of providers that will accept your vision plan. The vision coverage is for providers within the United States only. It does not provide coverage overseas.
Dental: Network is Aetna Dental PPO.
To find providers, visit Aetna's DocFind. Select dentists or dental specialists, enter your zip code and miles you are willing to travel, select Aetna Dental PPO as the plan and click on "Search" to see the most current listing of providers that will accept your dental plan. The dental coverage is for providers within the United States only. It does not provide coverage overseas.
