While many items are not currently recycled by Carnegie Mellon, other organizations exist in and around Pittsburgh that will take many items.

Drop-offs are located in Pittsburgh, 335 N. Braddock Avenue; Dorseyville, Eichenlaub Inc., 3809 Saxonburg Blvd.; and North Strabane, 25 Lindley Road.
(North Strabane location only can also accept newspaper, corrugated paper, vegetative food waste, herbivore manure and bedding. Campus compost material drop off program.
