Procurement

Purchasing Indicators characterize purchases made by Carnegie Mellon and individual departments.  While there is a centralized purchasing department, a number of departments rely additionally on outside vendors for supplies and services.

The purchasing indicators are designed to track environmental aspects of purchased products and how they impact an individual department's decision to rely on central purchasing or on an outside vendor.  The indicators include volume of recycled content products that are purchased and number of green suppliers.
