Green Teams @ Carnegie Mellon
A Green Team is a voluntary group of faculty, students, and staff, usually within one department, that team together to work on becoming more sustainable. To do this each team does an environmental sustainability assessment to identify areas that need improvement. This check list includes an assessment of office energy, lights, indoor air quality, waste management (reduce, reuse, recycle), green purchasing, transportation, commuting & travel and general workplace practices.
Green Leaders

- Participate in a campus recycling program
- Create a Green Team and meet routinely

- Develop strategies and actions for change
- Share actions and successes with the campus community on website
- 'Green Page' on departmental website linked to the Green Practices website
