Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week-Graduate Education - Carnegie Mellon University

Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week

Celebrating our graduate and professional students!

Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week was started in 1993 by the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students as a way to support and appreciate graduate and professional students. The week seeks to emphasize the contributions, impact and value of graduate and professional students on campuses throughout the United States. The 2015 Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week at Carnegie Mellon will be held from April 6-10, 2015. Carnegie Mellon University’s Pittsburgh campus will be celebrating the week with a variety of opportunities and events for graduate students, including the graduate interdisciplinary exhibition, Innovation with Impact.

Innovation with Impact

Innovation with Impact, IWI, is a yearly event held on the Pittsburgh campus during Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week. It is an interdisciplinary poster/performance exhibition of graduate student research and projects from across the Pittsburgh campus and a celebration of the Graduate Student Teaching and Service Award winners that gives a taste of the experiences and hard work that graduate students often only share at off-site locations, conferences, or within their own college/program. All Carnegie Mellon community members, faculty, students, and staff are invited to attend. All graduate students are invited to participate.

Graduate Student Teaching and Service Award Winners

The Graduate Student Awards encourage and recognize exemplary teaching and service to graduate students and Carnegie Mellon University. Recipients have displayed outstanding effectiveness in the classroom and have contributed to an improved quality of life for graduate students and the entire academic community. Awardees are recognized during Innovation with Impact and the Celebration of Education.
