Meet the Summer 2013 Fellows

Jacqueline Cortese is a Masters of Public Policy and Management student at the Heinz College. She is interning at the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, an industry association of leading businesses and organizations working to make commercial human spaceflight a reality.

Lara Dorko is a rising senior majoring in Ethics, History and Public policy in the Dietrich College. She is interning at the DC Public School System.

Lindsay Elliott-Foose is a rising senior majoring in Decision Science and Global Studies in the Dietrich College. She is interning at the Department of State in the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration.

Kate Fisch is a rising senior majoring in Global Studies in the Dietrich College. She is interning with Senator Gillibrand (D-NY).

Chloe Hawker is a rising junior majoring in International Relations and Politics. She will intern with Senator Bennet (D-CO) in June and will be with Congressman Perlmutter (D-CO) for the rest of summer.

Alice McKenney is a Masters of Public Policy and Management student at the Heinz College. She is interning at the Food Research Action Center, a national nonprofit organization working to improve public policies and public-private partnerships to eradicate hunger and under-nutrition in the United States.

Brian Pettitt-Schieber is a rising senior majoring in Global Studies and Directing through the BXA program in the College of Fine Arts. He is interning at the Washington Office on Latin America, a nonprofit organization that promotes human rights, democracy, and social justice by working with partners in Latin America and the Caribbean to shape policies in the United States and abroad.

Carlos Saborio is a Masters of Public Policy and Management student at the Heinz College. He is interning with Congresswoman Frankel (D-FL).

Emily Sale is a Masters of Public Policy and Management student at the Heinz College. She is interning at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, a nonprofit that, since 1911, has been serving uprooted people, regardless of their nationality, race, ideology, or social group.

Christopher Skaggs is a rising junior majoring in International Relations and Politics and Philosophy. He will intern with Congresswoman Capito (R-WV) in June and will be with Senator Manchin (D-WV) for the remainder of the summer.

Daniel Tessler is a Masters of Public Policy and Management student at the Heinz College. He is interning with the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction. In 2008, Congress created the Office of the SIGAR to provide independent and objective oversight of Afghanistan reconstruction projects and activities.
