  • Grade School Cross Country Races in Frick Park

    Approximately 450 students participate in one of three 1.6-mile cross-country races through Frick Park each fall. The boys and girls who participate are from 10 different schools throughout the City of Pittsburgh, Penn Hills and Plum Borough.

    Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Writing Awards

    This is a city-wide contest writing contest for area high school students and CMU students. Students write personal narratives--poems and stories--on race. Winners read at CMU on MLK Day and are published in a book each year.

    Trail Improvements in Frick Park

    Twenty-five members of the Men and Women’s cross country teams spread wood chips on the trails in Frick Nature Reserve, to create a better surface for all who use the park.
