Graduating undergraduate students set out for projects that will give them valuable experiences before attending graduate school or starting a career. Delaying The Real World funds its selected winners, so that their winners may conduct their projects.
'LIFE Lessons' Essay Contest
For legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, between 17 and 24 years of age, who have experienced the death of a parent of legal guardian and are currently enrolled in, or have been accepted to a college/university. Essay winners receive $1,000 to $5,000, depending on their placement.
MERF and WPAM 2007-2008 Essay Contest
For students in accredited colleges who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and must apply to their Local Group based on their geographic location. The essay must explain the student’s career, academic and/or vocational goals.
Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Contest
For registered undergraduate full-time juniors or seniors at accredited four-year colleges or universities in the United States during the fall 2007 semester. Applicants write essays about their concerns or beliefs on any topic of their choice. First place receives $5,000, second receives $2,500, third receives $1,500, and honorable mentions receive $500.
7th Annual Essay Contest on Ayn Rand’s Novel Atlas Shrugged
First place receives $10,000, three second places receives $2,000, and five third places receive $1,000. Entrant must be enrolled in a college degree program at the time of entry. The contest is open to students worldwide.
