Computer Science Scholarships

  • Anita Borg Computer Science Scholarship
    $10,000 for scholarship recipients for the 2008-2009 academic year. Remaining finalists will receive $1,000 each. Must be a female undergraduate entering her senior year and studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field majors with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • CRA Website Highlights for Students
    $1,000 will be awarded to each of two undergraduate students, one female and one male. A small number of other outstanding candidates will be recognized as Runners-Up and Finalists. The two first-prize winners will receive financial assistance to attend a major computing research conference, and CRA will sponsor a departmental reception for them at their home institutions. Their awards will be presented at one of these venues.
  • DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship
    $1,000 cash prize, an award certificate, and travel expenses to attend the award ceremony at SC08 in Austin, TX, in November 2008. For undergraduate and graduate students and non-academic computational scientists. A proposal submission will typically include new or existing computational science materials, methods, and modules for demonstrating computational science in the classroom.
  • Microsoft College Scholarships
    Microsoft is offering four different types of technical scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year to current undergraduate students: General Scholarships, Women's Scholarships, Underrepresented Minority Scholarships, and Scholarships for Students with Disabilities.
  • Microsoft Research Graduate Women's Scholarship
    $15,000 one-year scholarship, conference and travel allowance of $2,000 USD is provided for recipients to attend a conference in their field of study, and an invitation to attend an award ceremony at the Microsoft Research campus in Redmond, WA in February 2009. For 1st and 2nd year female graduates in computer science, electrical & computer engineer, and mathematics.
