Carnegie Mellon may nominate one junior who is planning to attend graduate school in humanities, social sciences or Arts. Winners receive $2,000 upon entering graduate school and up to $30,000 while attending.

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Junior Fellowship Program
For graduating seniors and individuals who have graduated during the past academic year who have not yet begun graduate studies. Fellows receive $2,750/month and a full benefits package.

Winston Churchill Foundation Scholarships
For graduate work in engineering, mathematics and science at Churchill College, Cambridge University. Must be a U.S. citizen. Award covers all Cambridge University fees & tuition, plus a living allowance and travel expenses, with a total value between $48,000 and $50,000.

Department of Defense Fellowship Programs: NDSEG - National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program
For study and research leading to doctoral degrees in engineering, math, and sciences. Award covers full tuition and fees, plus a stipend for 12-month tenures: 1st year- $30,500; 2nd year- $31,000; 3rd year- $31,500.

Department of Homeland Security Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Undergraduate scholarships are for sophomores majoring in the physical sciences, mathematical sciences, computer and information sciences, life sciences, social sciences, psychology, or engineering with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.30 or higher. Must be a U.S. citizen. Winners receive $1,000/month for 9 months during the academic year and $5,000 for the 10-week summer internship, for the duration of two years.

Department of Homeland Security Graduate Fellowship Program
Graduate fellowships are for students pursuing a doctoral or master’s degree with a thesis requirement in the physical sciences, mathematical sciences, computer and information sciences, life sciences, social sciences, psychology, or engineering. Graduating college seniors are eligible. Applicants must have a cumulative undergraduate GPA and cumulative graduate GPA (if enrolled) of 3.30 or higher. Must be a U.S. citizen. Fellows receive $2,300/month for 12 months and full tuition and all non refundable fees paid. Appointments are for up to 3 years. A 10-week, off campus internship at DHS or a DHS-affiliated facility is required during the summer between fellows’ first and second year appointments.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
Up to $5,000 to students in any field who have already been accepted to a study abroad program. $3000 Critical Need Language Supplements are available for students studying a critical need language for a total possible award of $8000. A list of eligible languages can be found on the Gilman website. Students must receive a Federal Pell Grant to be eligible. U.S. citizenship required.

The George J. Mitchell Scholarships
Seniors, alumni, and graduate students no older than 30 to study in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Award covers tuition, housing, a $12,000 living expenses stipend, and international travel.
No campus deadline, but the Mitchell Scholarship Committee expects applicants to work with the university advisors for support and advice in preparing the application.

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships Program
For seniors and graduate students, the Graduate Research Fellowship provides three years of support for graduate study leading to research-based master’s or doctoral degrees and is intended for students who are in the early stages of their graduate study. The Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) invests in graduate education for a cadre of diverse individuals who demonstrate their potential to successfully complete graduate degree programs in disciplines relevant to the mission of the National Science Foundation.

The SMART Defense Education Program is a scholarship/fellowship for service program in which academically excellent students pursuing degrees in disciplines of particular interest to the Department of Defense receive funding for full tuition, related educational fees, and living expenses and are then placed in civilian laboratory positions upon graduation.

Morris K. Udall Scholarship
Sophomores and juniors are eligible (including those in the 4th year of a 5th year track) from a variety of fields who have demonstrated a commitment to environmental or natural resource issues through a combination of coursework, research, internships, jobs, or extracurricular activities. Native American or Alaskan native students are also eligible for fields related to tribal health care or tribal policy. Winners receive up to $5,000 for tuition, room and board, or other educational expenses.
