The Treasurer's Office manages the university’s financial resources to preserve financial assets, mitigate risks, augment revenues, minimizes expenses and create operational efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include:

Liquidity Management

The Treasurer’s Office manages the university’s working capital investment portfolio, which represents non-endowed assets used to meet operational liquidity needs and augment revenue. A cash forecast and analysis inform the portfolio’s sizing and use of assets. They manage the investment of these funds in high-quality short-term liquid assets as well as the related broker-dealer relationships.


Debt Management

The Treasurer’s Office manages the university’s debt and derivatives portfolio through the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable debt across a range of maturities to minimize cost on a risk-adjusted basis over time. They partner with internal stakeholders on the analysis of capital projects associated with new debt and manage credit rating agency, underwriter and investor relationships. They also manage the university’s internal loan portfolio and provide strategic guidance on asset-liability management.

Cash Operations

The Treasurer’s Office manages and facilitates the safe use of cash, checks, coin, and credit card usage across campus. They process incoming funds from campus and serve as the point of contact for incoming monies to the university. In this capacity, they manage the university’s bank relationships which includes the opening of new bank accounts and related financial services as well as the university’s eCommerce platform. They also advise on the implementation of new payment technology and other initiatives that create operational efficiencies and mitigate risks to the financial resources of the university.
