One of the defining characteristics of faculty life at CMU is engaging in new ideas, experiments, startups, collaborations and inventions. • The Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation (CTTEC) is responsible for facilitating and accelerating the movement of research and technology out of the university and into the marketplace. 

• The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) provides comprehensive support to faculty and staff in the administration of externally sponsored research.

• The Office of Research Integrity and Compliance (ORIC) works with CMU researchers to ensure that research is conducted in accordance with federal and state regulations.
