WHAT DOES IDENTITY MEAN TO YOU?

For the first time in its 11 year history, the CMU International Film Festival (CMU IFF) will be partnering with local artist, entrepreneur, and former Pittsburgh Steelers running back, Baron Batch, to present the 2017 CMU IFF season’s theme: “Faces of Identity.”

With this artistic introduction to “Faces of Identity,” the CMU IFF encourages students to take a closer look at themselves, their campus, and what art can mean to them in today’s world.

ABOUT BARON BATCH

Baron Batch’s artwork is featured in public spaces all across Pittsburgh. He “drops” his art in surprise installments using social media as a tool to engage Pittsburghers of all ages and backgrounds. Combining murals with powerfully written text, Baron’s pieces are colorful displays that carry inspirational messages. Each piece promotes positive thinking, peace, individuality, and a daring proclamation of the surviving soul of art. Baron Batch is also an entrepreneur and Creative Director of Pittsburgh’s own Studio AM, an event space and community-building force in the Homestead area.
