Acclaimed Argentinean writer-director Esteban Sapir gives us a noir glimpse into the wintry Metropolis homes of three families living in the year XX. The scene is a voiceless world with television as the primary controlling force. People watch TV. People eat TV meals. The merciless Mr. TV monopolizes both word and image while working on a sinister hypnotic machine to ensure his power. He kidnaps the only "voice" - that of a stunningly beautiful singer. Though shot in black-and-white, silent-film style, with influences of German Expressionism, Spain's Bunuel, Germany's Lang, Russia's Vertov, and France's Melies, "The Antenna" offers a very modern film invention.

Director Bio: Esteban Sapir

Esteban Sapir was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1967. He began working as a cinematographer in 1995 on Rey muerto and wrote, directed, and shot his first film, "Picado fino" (Fine Powder), in 1996. Since then, Sapir has worked steadily as cinematographer and director, culminating in the acclaimed "La Antena." He won the Clarin Award for Best Director for "La Antena" and won a Silver Condor Award (by the Argentinean Film Critics
Association) for "Life According to Muriel."
