About Thomas Tull

A groundbreaking producer and business leader in the film and entertainment industry, CMU trustee Thomas Tull is the founder, chairman and CEO of Legendary Entertainment.

As executive producer of The Dark Knight Rises, part of which was filmed on the CMU campus, Tull was an advocate for filming the movie in the city of Pittsburgh. He revolutionized the movie industry through Legendary Entertainment by pairing major motion picture production with Wall Street private equity and hedge fund investors.

Tull's productions include box office smash hits such as 300, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and The Hangover (parts I and II).

Named one of Fast Company's "100 most creative people in business," Tull — a Pittsburgh Steeler minority owner — also has a passion for science and technology.
