Architecture Fees & Requirements
Students invited to participate in the Pre-College Architecture Program will not be charged a fee for tuition, housing or dining. Participants will, however, be responsible for books, supplies, transportation and recreational expenses. The average cost of these expenses is around $600.
Students will be given a list of required materials before arriving on campus. If you already have tools or materials on the list you may bring them from home, but we recommend that you purchase the remainder of the materials at the Carnegie Mellon Art Store. Discounts are typically available and students are often able to share certain tools.
Architecture applicants must be at least 16 years old (born between August 6, 1991 and June 26, 1994) and have completed their junior year of high school by the start of the program. NO EXCEPTIONS.
