Art & Design Materials
Upon admission to the program, you will receive a list of suggested materials. We strongly recommend that you purchase these items at the Carnegie Mellon Art Store. Material kits for each class will be prepared in advance with guidance from faculty. These kits can be purchased on the Saturday of orientation. It's highly recommended that you b ring your own laptop and a high quality digital camera.
- Sketchbooks (works in progress and new)
- Tracing pad 19” x 24”
- Pencils/sharpeners/pens/conte crayons/personal drawing materials
- Kneaded eraser and Staedler Mars plastic eraser
- Masking tape
- Glue stick
- X-Acto knife and blades
- Scissors
- Measuring devices (tapes/steel rulers etc)
- 36” metal T-square
- Plastic triangle 30/60/90
- Staple gun and staples
- Personal brushes and palette knives
- Palette
