Art Coursework
Studio Sessions
While the School of Art encourages students to enroll in the full six-week program to allow a better overall developmental opportunity, you may choose between two three-week sessions.
Full-time resident and commuting students may study a full schedule of Core and Mini Studios for six weeks in Session I and Session II. Full-time and commuting students may also choose to study one three-week sessions in either Session I or Session II.
Part-time commuting students may choose a combination of Core and Mini Studios paying separate fees for each studio in either Session I or Session II.
Core Studios
Meet three times a week and offering instruction in Drawing, Painting or Comic Book/Serial Imagery, and Animation or Sculpture Studios.
Mini Courses
Meet twice a week offering instruction in Digital Photography, Printmaking, Ceramic Sculpture and Head Studios.
Outside the Studio
You will take part in an array of events and opportunities to enrich your studio work, including:
• Visits to places like the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Andy Warhol Museum and the Mattress Factory
• Evening presentations by faculty on their own artwork with conversation over pizza
• A gallery exhibition of student work in the College of Fine Arts is the highlight of Parents’ Weekend
• Weekly, evening figure-drawing sessions
• Portfolio critique during the last week of the program
