Associate Professor of the Human Computer Interaction Institute

When to call: Mankoff is an expert in residential conservation behavior, and built the edigs.org system which focuses on improving the information economy for tenants, especially pre-lease signing. This work can help tenants make better decisions about infrastructure rather than limiting them to saving energy via small behavior changes. Her research has also explored conservation behaviors in low-income communities, landlord/tenant housing situations, businesses, and developing countries. Her work includes automated techniques for predicting location, selecting questions to ask, and controlling temperature.
