Hazardous Waste
Hazardous wastes are most commonly generated on campus as a result of teaching, research, and facility maintenance activities. One of the ways that we strive to minimize the University’s impact on the environment is through comprehensive hazardous waste management.
Campus hazardous waste activities are managed through the Environmental Health & Safety Department (EH&S) and regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
We continue to strive to move beyond regulatory compliance through environmental education, special programs, and dedication to best possible environmental practices.
