Summer and Sandals

Pretty much every summer we have lab workers who wear sandals (or flip-flops, or other open shoes.)  This is not permitted, per our university Chemical Hygiene Plan.  Only closed-toes shoes are permitted, as this offers some minimal protection for your feet should a chemical or other hazard splash onto you.  You are welcome to wear sandals into the building, but keep a pair of suitable shoes at your desk to wear when you work in the lab.
