Lab Guests and Their Chemicals

Due to our emphasis on collaboration here at the University, we have a number of laboratories who allow researchers outside of their own lab group to use their facilities and equipment.  Frequently, these guests are bringing with them hazardous materials.  In the event of an emergency (spill, leak, fire) in a laboratory, it is critical that the emergency contacts (the people noted as contacts on the lab door sign) be aware not only of their own chemicals and equipment, but also of those hazrds any guests will have present.  It is impirtant to remember that the Laboratory Principal Investigator has ultimate responsibility for the safety of all people in his or her laboratory areas!
