Lab Guests and Their Chemicals

Due to our emphasis on collaboration here at the University, we have a number of laboratories who allow researchers outside of their own lab group to use their facilities and equipment.  Frequently, these guests are bringing with them hazardous materials.  In the event of an emergency (spill, leak, fire) in a laboratory, it is critical that the emergency contacts (the people noted as contacts on the lab door sign) be aware not only of their own chemicals and equipment, but also of those any guests will have present.  We recently had an event of this nature, so please be aware that it DOES happen and that the information of ALL the activity and hazards in a lab is needed by the emergency responders.
