Got Mercury?

There was a recent accident in one of our university laboratories involving a broken mercury thermometer.  EH&S has been trying to get all unneeded mercury out of the laboratories for both safety and environmental reasons.

If you have mercury thermometers and can turn them in to us, we will offer FREE replacements, by an alcohol thermometer.  Alcohol thermometers can have a slightly lower accuracy, though they are more than satisfactory in all but the most precise situations.  Also, alcohol thermometers are limited to temperatures below 290o F.

Contact EH&S at 8-8182 for further information.
