Compressed Gas Training

There is an on-line training module for the storage, handling and use of compressed gases on campus, available on the EH&S web site. Please go to http://www.cmu.edu/ehs/training/index.html and select “Compressed gas and toxic gas procedures” for the training module. As the name indicates, this module addresses both “regular” compressed gases as well as toxic gas procedures, in two different sections. All compressed gas users should take the first section, and those who work with toxic gases should also take the second portion.

Toxic gases include (but are not limited to): carbon monoxide, chlorine, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, fluorine, silane nitric oxide, etc.

Please contact EH&S in the event of any questions related to this new training module.
