Chemical Receiver Training

As we have discussed in this newsletter before, the Department of Transportation has very strict and comprehensive rules related to hazardous materials shipping, including when they are packed for shipping, while they are being shipped, and as they are being received!  EH&S has a very brief and easy on-line training module designed to provide this important training to people who receive hazardous materials shipments from couriers.  In many cases, this is laboratory or departmental administrative people.  Please pass the word to anyone in your department whom you know receives these packages.  The training is at:  http://www.cmu.edu/ehs/training/index.html; look for “DOT Hazardous Materials Receiving". At teh end of the module, be sure to acknowledge your completion so EH&S can record it!
