Annual Safety Extravaganza!

If your research lab can show compliance with the 5 biggest safety issues, you could win bagels for your lab personnel!

The challenge:    Make sure your research lab is in compliance with the following 5 items:
    1. appropriate spill kits
    2. no blockage of safety equipment
    3. all “Permission To Work Alone” forms completed and available
    4. all PHS forms completed and available
    5. ChemTracker updated

The test:    Schedule an appointment with Michael Patrick mjp@andrew.cmu.edu by Friday, December 6. He will ensure and judge compliance.

The reward:    Your research lab will be entered in a pool to be one of 3 super-safe labs to win free bagels, schmear and coffee!
… and a safe lab is fun for everyone!

How do we make sure we are compliant?
1.    Appropriate spill kits

remove obstructions from around eye washes, safety showers, fire extinguishers, etc.
3.    All “Permission To Work Alone” forms completed and available
Hazards include hazardous materials, procedures and equipment.
