Dining Plan Changes
Don't worry if you are unsure about which plan is right for you. Eating habits can often change in college so we give you the flexibility to adjust them.
At the beginning of every semester, you have a window of time to adjust the mix of meals and flexible dollars of your dining plan. If you are eating more complete meals during a given week, then it would be better to switch to a level in your plan that has more meals/blocks. If you prefer to eat more snack foods or separate items, then it would be best to switch to a level with more flexible dollars.
First-year students who are assigned to the Residence on Fifth or Shirley Apartments may change their meal plan to the yellow plan via the Dining Portal by September 8, 2016, at 5:00 pm.
All meal plan changes must take place during the official dining plan change period at the beginning of each semester:
- In the fall 2016 semester, you may change to other options within you plan color or increase/decrease your Traditional Meal plan on or before 5:00 pm, on Thursday, September 8, 2016.
- In the spring semester, you may change to other options within your plan color or increase your dining plan to one with a higher number of biweekly meals on or before 5:00 pm, on Thursday, January 26, 2017. You may not decrease your dining plan for the spring semester.
Login to the Dining Portal to make your meal plan changes before the meal plan change deadlines at the beginning of each semester.
After the deadline, you are only permitted to make changes to you meal plan due to a leave of absence, withdrawal, academic suspension, or if you are studying abroad.
You may only submit one change request during the meal-plan change periods. When you make changes, you will be refunded a prorated amount effective as of the next biweekly dining plan period. Changes made before or on the change deadlines will be approved and modified by the start of the third biweekly period.
First-year students may not cancel their meal plans.
