As a former high school teacher and member of Teach for America, I am interested in basic psychological research with applications in education.  Currently, I'm pursuing two projects. First, I'm examining boredom - what it is, why it may exist, how to induce it in the lab, and ultimately, how to evade it.  Second, I'm working to understand adolescent decision making - specifically, whether adolescents accurately perceive how they will behave in future situations, and how adolescents' risk-taking changes with experience.

I earned my B.A. in Economics and Psychology from the University of Chicago in 2008.
