Young Students Learn About the Day of the Dead

El Círculo Juvenil de Cultura—an outreach program launched by three faculty members in the Department of Modern Languages—collaborated with the University of Pittsburgh’s Falk School to teach young Spanish heritage speakers about the Mexican holiday the Day of the Dead. Juan Fernández and Isabel Gordillo led a session in which students sang songs, read books, watched a video, and even wrote their own stories about the holiday. Mariana Achugar, one of the founders of El Círculo, also participated.
