Organization of the Day
As we provide structure to children’s days within our program, we consider the question of time in many different ways. The Reggio Emilia approach challenges us to reconsider how we respond to the rhythm and pace of children’s experiences. The relationship between time and children’s experiences is taken into consideration in each age group when planning the organizational structure. Children are provided with the space, time, and support to create and follow their own agendas. Independence, autonomy, freedom, joy and time to experience complex relationships with the world set the framework of daily organization. The routines occur with both flexibility and predictability paying attention to the natural rhythm of each individual child.
