Part-Time Faculty and Staff and Carnegie Mellon Students-Cyert Center for Early Education - Carnegie Mellon University

Part Time Faculty, Part Time Staff, and Students

The Cyert Center for Early Education is a department of Carnegie Mellon University and offers spaces first to the children of benefits eligible University employees. Part time faculty and staff who are not eligible for University benefits and Carnegie Mellon students are next in priority on the wait list.  To apply, follow the steps in the chart below.

1. Download an application form and fill out as much information about your child as you currently know. You can update information as it changes. It is very important to let us know if your University employment status changes, as this will affect your position on the wait list.

2.  Send the application and non-refundable application fee of $25 to the Cyert Center for Early Education, 1060 Morewood Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213, attn: Enrollment.

3.  When your application is received, an email will be sent to you confirming your placement on the wait list.

4. In February, all new families to the wait list are invited to an Open House for a tour of the Center and to learn more about the program.

5. In early March, an email is sent to families on the wait list listing their position on the wait list (top, middle or bottom), the number of projected openings in your child's age group, and the date the enrollment process will begin.

6. Families are contacted by date of application and affiliation to Carnegie Mellon University to meet with the Administrative Director. They are given a tour of the Center and receive an information packet. Families then determine whether to accept or decline a space.

7. To accept the offered space, return contract and deposit.
