The Cyert Center for Early Education's 40th Anniversary Commemoration

The Cyert Center (formerly CMU Child Care) is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, and we want YOU to be a part of it! We're planning special events for current and alumni family & friends on April 21st, June 9th, and August 10th, 2012. Check this section of our website often for important news and information regarding these events.

WHAT’S NEXT

The 40th Anniversary offers an opportunity to celebrate and give back to a community dedicated to young children and their families. Three events are being organized by the Parent Educator Committee to honor the Center’s history, to celebrate the present and to lay a foundation for the future. You can support these events by volunteering, attending and/or supporting fundraising initiatives. The money raised will support the program in three ways:

  • The building of an outdoor studio on the larger playground
  • Support professional development opportunities for Center Educators
  • Environmental updates and improvement

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

An Evening Affair: Celebrating Our History-Saturday, June 9 from 7:00PM-10:00PM

·       This evening event offers us a time to celebrate the past, present and future of the Cyert Center. The Evening Affair will be catered and will include appetizers, desserts and refreshments. A silent auction will be part of the evening festivities. Please get the word out to other Cyert alums.  The more the merrier!

·       This celebration is for adults only.

 

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES

 

On-Line Silent Auction-possible kick off at the April 21 Alumni Tour

·       The 40th Anniversary Auction is now LIVE! This is a great opportunity to support your school and purchase fantastic items. Please visit the auction website to bid on products and services that have been generously donated by parents, educators, area retailers,
restaurants and non profits. Some items to consider include admissions tickets to Phipps and My Little Outback; gift cards to Mercurio's Mulberry Creamery, Judit European Day Spa, Chick-Fil-A, and Sushi Too; a beautiful wooden rocking chair, toy chest and more! To submit a bid, visit the website and leave a comment under the item you'd like to place a bid for. You can click on ARCHIVES to scroll through all of the items posted, or at the bottom of the page, you can view items by category. Bidding rules are posted beneath each listing. We look forward to your participation, and more importantly, we encourage you to have fun!

Silent Auction at the June 9 Evening Affair: Celebrating Our History

·       Special items from the On-Line Auction will be saved for the Evening Affair. Those attending the event will be able to bid on the items during the event. Winners will be announced at the end of the evening.

Paver Bricks

·       The floor of the Outdoor Studio will be made from paver bricks. As an opportunity to create a permanent memory honoring the time that your child attended the Cyert Center, you can purchase a brick and have it engraved with your child’s name. This will be an ongoing fundraiser. Monies raised will be dedicated to the further development of the outside studio.
