Numerical Radiative Transfer Modeling of a Quasar Proximity Zone

Abstract:

I will discuss the detailed numerical modeling of a quasar proximity zone with a view towards interpreting absorption spectra from coincident background quasars. During the course of this discussion, I will describe the publicly available radiative transfer code (SPHRAY) that was used to calculate the neutral H field around the quasar.
