What is a Carnegie Mellon Group?

A Carnegie Mellon Group is a list or subset of people or Andrew userIDs for individuals associated with the university.  Groups are created to help you maintain these lists.  These groups are stored in the Carnegie Mellon University Directory (LDAP) servers on campus.  Currently, groups maybe used to control access to a web page.
