Web Login / WebISO
Web Login and WebISO are secure sign-on services that verify your identity at Carnegie Mellon and allow access to restricted web services (e.g., Web Portal). To use Web Login or WebISO, your web browser (e.g., IE, Firefox) must be configured to accept cookies.
Note: By default, browsers are configured to accept cookies. If you need help to check this setting, refer to the Configure Your Web Browser document.
Using Web Login / WebISO
Follow these steps to access a protected web service:
- Enter the url of the protected web page you wish to access (e.g., Carnegie Mellon Web Portal).
- You are redirected to a Web Login / WebISO sign-on screen; enter your Andrew UserID and password.
- Your destination screen appears (e.g., Carnegie Mellon Web Portal).
Note: Until you close your browser or your login session expires, you will continue to have access to all Carnegie Mellon restricted web pages without the need to re-enter your Andrew ID and password.
Web Login: Transitioning to a new service!
Beginning in SPRING 2011, Computing Services began its transition from WebISO to Web Login (login.cmu.edu) to provide a secure and private log-in service. Although there is a difference in appearance, BOTH WebISO and Web Login are legitimate and will recognize your standard Andrew ID and password as confirmation of your identity. Depending on the campus service that you are attempting to access, you will be asked to log in and verify your identity through either the traditional WebISO page or through the new Web Login page. Please be aware of this change as restricted services are moved to the new secure Web Login service.
