Andrew Web Publishing System (AWPS)

The Andrew Web Publishing System (AWPS) is a service for publishing a website hosted on the cmu.edu server.

The AWPS is self-service and does not include web development tools. You create and maintain your own website files, then upload them to publishing.andrew.cmu.edu. The AWPS supports websites built using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery. It does not support server-side dynamic content, PHP, or server-side includes.

You need HTML knowledge to build a website with the AWPS. Consult an online tutorial, or use a web authoring tool such as Dreamweaver, available in the Computing Services Computer Labs.

Eligibility

The AWPS is available to faculty and staff in all:

  • Academic and administrative departments
  • Research groups, centers, and labs that have official departmental recognition and an official name
