Where to get it: SAS licenses are free to students. Faculty and staff can purchase and renew licenses for the Windows and Linux versions at the Computer Store. Licenses are per seat and each license must be renewed annually at the computer store. SAS media for Linux and Windows can be purchased at the Computer Store. The Linux/version is also available in the Andrew Archive, /afs/andrew.cmu.edu/system/archive Send email to software@andrew.cmu.edu to irequest access to the Linux version.
License code required: Yes. SAS uses a license code that needs to be updated each fall.

Students can request this code in email to software@andrew.cmu.edu. License codes are specific to SAS version and operating system. Be sure to identify SAS version and OS in your email.

Faculty and staff will receive the code after paying the annual licensing fee at the CMU Computer Store. Give computer store staff the SAS version and the operating system under which you run SAS. The store will inform software licensing that the fee has been paid and the code should be sent to you.
Getting help using it: This product is not supported by Computing Services. End user help is not available.
Restrictions: Use for academic, non-commercial purposes only. Software must be removed from computers if annual payment is not made. Administrative use of SAS is not covered by this academic license. Faculty may take copies out of North America for up to 90 days. Students cannot take copies out of North America.
Individual use rights upon termination of affiliation: All copies must be deleted upon termination of affliation with Carnegie Mellon University
